Sage Data

Snell Library is currently offering trial access to Sage DataSage Data is a collection of U.S. and international datasets sourced from governmental, commercial, and private organizations. Sage Data allows you to search and browse a very large amount of datasets, compare and contrast variables of interest, and create customized exportable charts and tables. Each dataset also has a detailed description, including information about its source organization and update frequency.

Datasets include cover a wide swath of subjects, including agriculture and food; banking, finance, criminal justice, education; energy resources and industries; government and politics; health and vital statistics; housing and construction; industry, business, and commerce; international relations and trade; labor and employment; military, the environment; population and income; prices, and much more.

The trial for Sage Data will end on Oct. 19th, 2023.

North American City Reports

Snell Library is currently offering trial access to many new resources from Coherent Digital.  Researchers familiar with the Policy Commons platform will find two of them available there.  North American City Reports,   which includes the full text of surveys, budgets, statistical records, case studies, planning documents, training manuals, policy guidelines, reports, and news from the 600 largest cities and urban agencies in North America.

World Cities

And then, try World Cities which preserves the full text of surveys, budgets, statistical records, case studies, planning documents, training manuals, policy guidelines, reports, and news from the world’s top 100 cities by population, capital cities with populations greater than 20,000 people, major cities in the Global South and cities with particular research importance – such as those dealing with climate change, political instability, or rapid growth.

South Asia Commons

A new resource from Coherent Digital to try also, is South Asia Commons It includes subjects across a broad range are covered, including archaeology, industry, parliamentary debates and concerns, and law case reports. Other reports include the near complete set of the Calcutta riots of 1946 and gazetteers from a range of districts and territories, providing a fascinating insight into colonial India. And try out the modules within it, History and Culture and the South Asia Archive.

urbanNext Lexicon

Snell Library is currently offering trial access to urbanNext Lexicon from Actar Publishers.  This e-resource is a curated database of multi-format content about contemporary urban environments. It contains case studies and current research. It uses a search engine and weekly topics to allow users to engagingly navigate and stay up to date with current architectural theories and practices.

It includes eBooks, essays, photographic atlases, data, architectural projects, podcasts, and lecture videos about contemporary urban environments.  There are explanatory videos about how the site is organized.

Public Administration Abstracts

Snell Library is currently offering trial access to Ebsco’s Public Administration Abstracts which provides the most current information on public administration-related publications worldwide.  Organized in one convenient resource, this service presents concise, descriptive summaries of the most relevant journal articles and books in the public administration field today. Each abstract gives complete bibliographic data in a format that lets you easily select the material you need. Approximately 1,200 abstracted articles are provided annually covering such areas as administration and economy, administration and politics, administration and society, administrative structures and organization, public and social services, public service personnel, and theory and method.

Reaxys

Snell Library is currently offer trial access to Reaxys. During this trial, you will have access to Reaxys, Reaxys Target and Bioactivity, and Reaxys Predictive Retrosynthesis.

Reaxys is a substance-driven chemistry database developed by chemists to serve researchers across multiple chemical disciplines including organic, analytical, inorganic, biochemistry, and physical. Reaxys extracts relevant property, preparation, and reaction data from chemical literature and patents to save you time when searching for this information. Reaxys is not a substitute for SciFinder, but it may serve as a complimentary resource. You can visit Help in Reaxys to start learning all about this resource. The Help overview also includes guides, videos, and webinars.
